Patrick J. Morris

Mr. Morris is Marathon’s Executive Vice President of Mergers & Acquisitions.  Mr. Morris is also responsible for Marathon’s Legal Department, serving as Marathon’s Executive Vice President of Legal Affairs and General Counsel. He has almost  20 years of legal experience, with a primary expertise in pharmaceuticals/biologics, venture capital, private equity, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and licensing transactions and corporate law.

• Mr. Morris most recently served as Vice President of Legal Affairs and General Counsel of Lundbeck, Inc. (formerly Ovation Pharmaceuticals), a multinational biopharmaceutical company.
• Prior to that, Mr. Morris served as Vice President of Legal Affairs and General Counsel of Ovation Pharmaceuticals from 2003 through March, 2009, when a deal team led by Mr. Morris completed its acquisition by H. Lundbeck A/S.
• Prior to joining Ovation Pharmaceuticals, Mr. Morris was a Partner at the national law firm Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP, where he worked, among other things, on the firm’s merger with Rosenman and Colin LLP and as Ovation Pharmaceuticals’ primary outside legal counsel from its inception.
• He received his JD from Northwestern University School of Law and BA from DePaul University.
