The Marathon Patient Support Program
Marathon established its Patient Support Program to assist eligible* U.S. patients who are experiencing financial hardship and who need our medications. You may qualify for assistance if you do not have insurance, cannot afford your out-of-pocket co-pay costs or need assistance with health insurance coverage or reimbursement issues.
Three programs are in place to meet our patients’ needs:
Reimbursement support
Marathon’s Reimbursement Support currently provides comprehensive guidance for insurance-related issues such as clarifying insurance policy benefits, providing billing and coding information, and helping to identify alternative sources of coverage.
Patient assistance program
For eligible, uninsured patients who cannot afford a medicine at any price, a Patient Assistance Program has been implemented to make Opium Tincture available for free.
Financial assistance
If you cannot afford your out-of-pocket costs for Opium Tincture or Seconal Sodium, you may be able to participate in Marathon’s Financial Assistance Program – administered by the National Organization of Rare Disorders (NORD), which enables qualified patients to get their medicine at a savings. Support is available to both insured and un-insured patients who may need assistance with health insurance premiums, deductibles or out-of-pocket expenses.
Any patient interested in knowing more about Marathon’s Patient Support Program should call the Reimbursement Support hotline (866) 945-7860 option #6 to review eligibility.
* A patient enrolled in Medicare’s prescription coverage plan (“Part D”) and who has his or her Marathon product on formulary is not eligible to participate in the patient assistance program or the financial assistance program due to government regulations. Additionally, patients enrolled in some other government-sponsored programs (VA/FSS, Medicaid, etc.) are not eligible.
